Teri Carson is a San Diego based director, screenwriter, producer and cinematographer. She started out as a conceptual artist and later discovered she wanted to make films. She founded DissidentFilms to develop and promote art which completely disregards formulaic standards and which exemplifies her philosophy of nonconformism and artistic anarchy.
Her latest short film, "Poly Esther," a bizarre and dark tale about a fashion-conscious shopping addict, premiered at a curated film exhibition at the Museum of Contemporary Art in La Jolla in July 2004. Her work has been shown at several international film festivals and micro-cinemas, including the San Diego Latino Film Festival, CinemaInc., and the Boston Latino International Film Festival. She is currently in the pre-production stages of her first feature film, which will be shot in Paris, Mexico and San Diego in 2005.
Teri was born in Mexicali, Baja California, Mexico and raised in both Mexico and the United States.
